Procedure

1. Go to the office of General Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety (DGVSR).
2. Fill in the application form.
3. Sign the application form and submit along with all other required documents.
4. Pass the written test.
5. Pay the appropriate fee.

Eligibility

Nationals who wish to conduct the following types of vehicles:

• Motorcycle cylinder capacity 50 cm3 age - must be 16 years old;
• Motorcycle cylinder capacity exceeding 50 cm3: age must be at least 18 years old;
• Passenger car: age must be at least 18 years old;
• Heavy vehicles age age must be at least 21 years old.

Validity

Your learners licence will be valid for two years.

Need for the Document

You may drive the type of vehicle for which the learner's licence is valid. However, a licensed driver must accompany you at all times (except on a motorcycle). A learner driver may not carry another person on a motor cycle.
