Cameroon - Obtain Permit (License) to Modify Existing Building

Procedure

1. To obtain permission to modify the existing building or to demolish an existing building, you have to get in touch with the town/city hall of your local municipal office of the area where the land is located.
2. An application form is obtained from the local municipal which is then filled in and submitted along with the documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page.
3. The mayor validates the application and displays it as a notice after which the permit is provided.

Required Documents

• A completed and stamped application form that is obtained from the town\city hall.
• A certificate of quiet enjoyment, signed by the chief of the district of location of the plot and two (2) residents.
• A site plan.
• A summary plan of the proposed building
• A brief description and estimated budget.
• Site picture.

Fees

The rate of the permit to plant voted by the municipal council is set at 1% of the total cost of construction.
