1.To start the application process, first find out what is required and assess to find out if you fulfill requirements. Information can be obtained from the Cameroonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX)
2.Obtain a passport application form and fill it in accurately. This can be obtained from any immigration office or can be downloaded from Cameroonian embassy website, a list of embassies or high commission can be seen at http://www.embassypages.com/cameroon;
3.Acquire all required documents and make copies; and
4.Submit application to the Cameroonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX)
5.Upon review and approval of the submitted documents, the responsible office will issue a Payment

1. The diplomatic passports can only be used on official business;
2. Applicants must verify the completeness of their application before submitting application;
3. Always allow apply for the passport earlier enough to allow the completion application process;
4. Applicants must submit any other passport he / she holds upon application for a diplomatic passport;
5. Always carry original documents for an appointment, officers may want to look at them;
6. Temporary diplomatic passports must be returned to the Cameroonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), when someone completes duty / assignments;
7. Beware of fraud, as some private companies claim they issue diplomatic passports
8. Issuance of passport to members of a government mission abroad must be approved by the president of the Republic.
9. Employees return to original organization or who retire must return the diplomatic passports to the returned to Cameroonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX).

- A diplomatic passport is a passport issued to a person who must travel internationally on official state business.
- Diplomatic passports in Cameroon are issued by the minister of foreign relations or the heads of diplomatic or consular missions.
- The issuance of a diplomatic passport in Cameroon is subject to specific provisions.
- There are two (2) types of diplomatic passports in Cameroon;
- Permanent
- Temporary passports.
- The permanent diplomatic passport is issued
- to the President and
- Former heads of state plus their spouses and children,
- former vice-presidents,
- the Speaker of the National Assembly plus spouses and children,
- the Prime Minister, former prime ministers,
- the President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) plus spouses and children,
- members of the government plus spouses and children,
- former ministers of foreign relations,
- members of the National Assembly's executive committee,
- and persons working in the office of the president and career diplomats,
- embassy advisors, secretaries and attachs,
- army,
- navy and air force attachs,
- economic,
- cultural and financial advisors,
- and the aforementioned Cameroonians working for international organizations.
- Temporary diplomatic passports are issued for the duration of the duties of departmental secretaries general,
- assistant army,
- navy or air force attachs,
- and technical service officers with a diplomatic rank working in diplomatic and consular missions.
- This passport is also granted to anyone else approved by the president of the Republic.
- The temporary diplomatic passports is also issued to direct ascendants of career diplomats, as well as the spouses and minor children of managers working in the office of the

- general officers,
- Cameroonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) managers up to the service head level,
- army,
navy and air force attachs,
- and technical service officers with a diplomatic rank working in diplomatic and consular missions.
Information which might helpEdit
1. It is advisable to always carry both the regular and tourist passports when travelling abroad;
2. It is necessary to always get both passports stamped when entering or exiting with a diplomatic passport, this helps to make sure that the stamps match up just in case a diplomat on duty in one country wants to tour another.
3. If someone with a diplomatic passport wants to travel, he or she must use a regular tourist passport.
