ProcedureEdit

  1. To start a business, the applicant has to contact the Corporate Affairs and Intellectual Property Office (CAIPO) office.
  2. As a first step the applicant has to search for the business name to make sure it's not been already taken. Cost and time associated is (3 days, US$4)
  3. If the business name is not already taken the business name can be registered. If the name has already been taken a new business name has to be put forward. Cost and time associated is (2 days, US$10)
  4. The applicant has to register for tax. the time involved in completing this task is 2 days and it's free.
  5. The applicant has to register with Social Security. The time involved in completing this task is 1 day and it's free.
  6. If a company is to be formed, it will take 12 days, US$1,369 for local registrant and US$1,848-foreign registrant.
  7. If a partnership is to be formed it will take 7 days and US$10.
  8. If permits and licenses are required it will take 30 days.
  9. To open a bank account and deposit start-up capital it will take 7-14 days.
  10. To register with the Private Sector Association it will take 30 days and the payment of an annual membership fee.
