Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Verify PayPal Account in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Bank of Ghana. contact link
2. Walk into any Bank and tell them applicants want to open a Paypal account and then the applicant will be given a form to fill.
3. Fill in his/her postal, physical address, date of birth, mobile phone number then confirm that the applicant has read and consented to PayPal's User Agreement and Privacy Statement.
4. Fill the form accurately with no mistakes; give his/her current address as stated on the address as any mistake in the address may hinder them from opening his/her account.
5. If applicants are confused about any questions just ask and they will assist him/her even if the applicant cannot write properly they will do it for the applicant as long as your details are correct.
6. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
7. The application is free of charge.
8. Just submit the form with the photocopy of applicant national identification card. Wait for a week or two for them to confirm the applicant’s address and account is opened.
9. The bank of Ghana will check the application form and then, if all authorities are satisfied, they will take action for the account.
10. Wait for a week or two for them to confirm the applicant’s address and the applicant’s account.
11. Then, the notification or mail regarding that will be sent to the applicant.
12. Then, the applicant must Provide and link a bank account along with routing number and account number
13. Provide and link a debit/credit card along with card expiration date, card security code, billing address and then verify code contained in the description of a test transaction initiated by PayPal in about 1 or 2 days.
14. Please note that verified accounts pay less fees and have fewer restrictions e.g. limits on the amount of money he/she can send, receive or withdraw.
15. This process is free of charge.

Apply Online

1. In the applicant’s browser, go to PayPal link and log into the account.
2. Click on the summary tab on the upper right side of the window.
3. Scroll down to the “More about your account” section and click “See how much the applicant can send with PayPal”
4. Click on the Get verified link located near the top of the window.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete his/her verification process.

To become a verified PayPal user in Ghana the applicant must;
