Apply In-Person:
- To Vehicle Physical Conversion,the applicant has to approach the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority Head Office in Ghana.
- The contact and address details of the approved Vehicle Licensing Offices for each state in Ghana can be found in the following page. contact link
- Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
- Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
- Present Vehicle Registration Certificate (V. C. R) to the cashier and pay road use fee.
- The vehicle must be physically inspected and tested to ensure that it confirms to the standards of Ghana vehicle authority.
- The applicant has produced his/her vehicle for inspection along with the vehicle documents.
- Before inspection is done the applicant would have to make a payment for inspection.
- After inspection of the vehicle and the documents related to the vehicle, the vehicle will be authorised and approved for driving.
- Present vehicle along with vehicle registration certificate for vehicle examination and verification respectively.
- Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed withVehicle road worthiness.
- Roadworthiness sticker is issued upon satisfactory result from vehicle inspection.
- Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes 1 day.

InstructionsEdit
- All motor vehicles used on the road shall be examined to determine that they conform to the prescribed requirements relating to the construction and use of the vehicle, its accessories and other equipment.
- All vehicles must be physically inspected before roadworthy certification.
- Examination shall be conducted every six months in respect of commercial vehicles and once every year in respect of private vehicles.
- Security agencies whose vehicles have been registered by DVLA are also required to pay the statutory fees for roadworthiness.
- Roadworthy inspection initiated at a particular office should be completed at the same office.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- A Certificate of Road worthiness is required when a vehicle is sold, if a used vehicle is to be re-registered or, in some cases to clear a Vehicle Defect. It is only issued by a licensed vehicle tester.
