Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Replace Lost or Stolen ID card in person, the applicant must visit the Ghana National Identification Authority Contact link
2. Report to a police station nearby and notify them about the lost or stolen national ID and obtain a police report.
3. Then applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Applicant must fill all the information in the application form.
5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Submit the completed form along with the supporting documents to the respective office.
8. This application will be processed and information will be verified by the NIA.
9. If all the above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their ID card
10. The applicant after seeing the notification can go to the NIA office and can get their new ID card.
11. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.
