Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Change of Particulars in Sole Proprietor Amendment, the applicant has to approach the Register General Department (RGD) office. Contact link
2. Applicant can be downloading the application Form D from this link.
3. Applicant filled all details in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Name should be exact as registered, should there have been any Change of Name after registration do state the new name
7. The Registration Number is stated at the top left side of the Registration Certificate.
8. Clearly state here the complete Business Name of the Applicant.
9. Provide here a detailed description of the Nature of Change in the particulars,
10. Clearly State here the Date of Change in the provided format of (dd/mm/yy).
11. Clearly state here in this space provides the date in the given format.
12. Then, the Applicants Provide the Signature in the space provided in the declaration.
13. Applicant should all relevant documents attached in application form.
14. The prescribed fee must be paid by the applicant, and the receipt of payment must be attached with the application form.
15. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is taken 2 months.
16. If the authorized official is satisfied that all the information are in order, applicant will be notified of the outcome and issued with an amended business registration certificate and other supporting documents upon payment of the required fees.

Eligibility

• A Ghanaian LLC can be formed by a single shareholder, who must appoint two directors. While all can be foreigners, one of the directors must be ordinarily resident in Ghana.
• Only Ghanaians above the age of 18 years are eligible to renew sole proprietorship businesses name.

Fees

• A Fee for this procedure is 25GHC for a year.

Validity

• Validity for this certificate for 1 year.

• This document is proof of simply refers to a person who owns the business and is personally responsible for its debts.

• A Company may carry on Business under a Business Name which does not consist of its corporate name. This can be called a subsidiary of the parent Company with the Parent Company being the owner. A stamp of the Parent Company is required and signed by one of its existing directors or secretary
• Applicant need to register a business name if you conduct business under a name other than your own. When you register a business name, you register it nationally. This means you can operate your business in any state or territory in West Africa.
