Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for Student Thesis Grant is available in Ghana Scholarship Secretariat office contact link
2. An applicant has to approach the Ghana scholarship secretariat and the applicant can get their application form for student thesis grant.
3. Complete your application Form and Attach all required documents; Write your proposal and fill out ALL the required fields on the Application forms, and certifications and attach all required documents.
4. A Fee for this student thesis grant is free of charge.
5. Submit your application within a specified time frame to the office Ghana National Scholarship secretariat and the Forms should be endorsed by school Heads and District Chief Executives of their District of origin before submission to the Secretariat for processing.
6. Processing your application: The Scholarship Application Forms shall then be received by the Records Officer at the secretariat offices for further processing and a list of successful applicants shall be generated and sent to the Head various public universities in Ghana after approval.
7. The funds shall be processed the Government through the scholarship secretariat shall provide support which will include feeding fee, accommodation fees, and Library fees, research fees to brilliant but needy students who hail from regions outside the three northern regions and whose parents/guardians are financially handicapped.
8. The processing time for this procedure is taken 30 working days.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be a Ghanaian citizen.
• Be a registered regular full time postgraduate student of a local public university.
• Sandwich and distance learning students are not eligible to apply.
• Fee paying students are not eligible to apply.
• Students on sponsorship as well as those on study leave with pay are not eligible to apply.

• Validity is based on the duration of the course of applicant.

• In the face of the prevailing economic conditions in Ghana, many graduate students in Ghana universities often encounter hardship in respect of the necessary resources to complete their research programmes on time or produce work of high quality. This Scholarship is designed to help such student gain access to funds to complete their research work on time.
• The student thesis Scholarship Grants was introduced by the Government of Ghana to deal with this problem, which has a profound effect on human resource development in the higher education sector in Ghana.

• Academic papers of the previous school,
• Sex, Age and marital status
• Nationality
• Education background
• Details of enrolling institution
• Details of applicants course to studied at the institution mentioned above
• Duration of course
• Commencement and end dates of study;
• Amount of tuition and other required payment;
• Bankers of the enrolling institution.
• Bursary grants Letter.

Need for the Document

• This is a grant paid once to postgraduate students of Public Universities. Allowances are graduated according to programme or course offered. This grant is granted through Registrar of Scholarships Secretariat in Ghana, through a recommendation from Minister of State in charge of Scholarships at the Office of the President. This scholarship grant not only geared towards those students on research Dissertations but also those students on the programs that aim to improve the quality of research conducted by graduate students in Ghana universities.

• We, the undersigned accepted to re-pay the total amount spent by government of Ghana on the applicant plus, 30% interest or the going commercial rate whichever is higher if applicant through misconduct, omission or commission, is not able to successfully complete the course which he/she has been granted a scholarship.
