Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for a Private security organization license in person, the applicant has to approach the Ghana ministry of interior department or Ghana standards Authority office (GSA).

3. Also, Information related to the MINT office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
4. The applicant can collect the application form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
5. Fill the forms with the right information to facilitate the process.
6. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
7. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. The Commission will review the application and all the submitted documents. Once the applicant meets all the requirements, the Commission will issue an invoice for the license fee to be paid. After payment is done, the Commission will proceed to issue the license accordingly.
9. The process takes two to three months. This is usually the case when the applicants present all the documents the right way.
10. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
11. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied, he shall grant the new license to the applicant.
12. This process takes average 2 to 3 months.

• Copy of Ghanaian Card/Voter Identity Card
• Copy of passport/driving license
• Two copies of the Sales Bill/Purchase Bill
• Education certificate (must)
• If applicants are an employee, his/her will need to provide proof of identity as an employee.
• Proof of payment
• CV’s of the company’s directors and shareholders
• Copy of company’s regulation/ A copy of company’s code
• Certificate of incorporation

• No person shall carry on or commence the business of a private security organization unless he holds a license issued by the respective controlling authority.
