Apply In Person
- To Apply for Commercial Radio Broadcasting License, the applicant must visit the National Communication Authority or Ministry of Communications Contact link
- Applicants must go to the national communication office in Ghana and obtain the application form.
- The applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- Upon receipt of the application file, the NCA receiving officer will verify, if all the necessary information and documentation have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration by the NCA Registration and Certificate Board.
- Applicants will be required to pay the application fee as mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page and obtain an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application.
- The application will be processed as per the information and documentation provided, which is why applicants are advised to provide sufficient information to enable the NCA to evaluate the business/company and make its decision.
- Notice of the decision (Approval, Deferral, or Rejection) for the application will be communicated to the client as pre preferable mode (in writing /phone/email/ in-person).
- The certificate will be granted if the NCA certificate board is satisfied with the applicant’s ability to deliver on its proposed business plan.
- If approved, the applicant will be required to produce a proof of identity document and the acknowledgment slip, while collecting the certificate, at the NCA head office where the application was lodged.
- The Amateur Radio certificate shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the NCA Licensing Board deems fit to impose in each case, and such terms and conditions or requirements shall be endorsed on the certificate.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Proof of age.
- Certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation of the company in Ghana.
- Certified copy of the Certificate of registration (if not incorporated in Ghana).
