ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Applicant can obtain a Medical Visa by applying to the Controller-General of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) office Contact link
  2. The Applicant has to approach the Ghana Immigration Service centre and the applicant can get their application form.
  3. Fill out the application form and other relevant documents.
  4. Applicants are strongly advised to read the attached privacy policy and to complete and sign the Consent Form. Prior to submitting the applicant application at the Ghana Embassy in the applicant home country.
  5. If a completed and signed consent form is not included with the application, the applicant application will be rejected, and will be obligated to be returned to the applicant.
  6. Pay Visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions in the application form fee schedule.
  7. Visit Ghana Embassy in your country of origin make sure you bring your passport, photographs, completed application forms and all supporting documents as per checklist and application fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied. Pay visa fees and biometric fee, if required, as per instructions on the study Guidelines from the Visa Office or website.
  8. Please note that when submitting your application form for the Medical Visa, in person or by mail, visa fees must be paid in addition to service charge.
  9. If the applicants need to give his/her biometrics, the Embassy will collect his/her biometrics at the same time they submit the applicant application.
  10. When applying at the Embassy, pay the service charges, submit complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of the applicant’s application online.
  11. Medical visas are processed within seven 30 working days of submission of applications.

  • Passport with 6 month validity.
  • Passport size photographs.
  • Photo copy of passport.
  • Proof of residential address.
  • Copy of application filled form.
  • University admission letter.
  • Formal letter of application for student Visa
  • A copy of the letter of admission
  • A copy of the letter of acceptance
  • Copies of qualification documents
  • Acknowledgement of receipt of application;
  • Payment receipt
  • Police Character/ Clearance Certificate of any Criminal Records
  • Vaccination Certificate against Yellow Fever
  • A copy of the letter of admission
  • A copy of the letter of acceptance

EligibilityEdit

  • Foreigners who are about to get treatment in a hospital of Ghana are eligible for getting a medical visa.



FeesEdit

  • A visa fee for medical visa is different for all the countries. It ranges from $13 to $118.



ValidityEdit

  • Valid for 1 year. Extension of validity can be done if the visa holder wishes to stay longer in Ghana for getting treatment.
