Need for the DocumentEdit

Education in Gabon is largely based on the French educational system and regulated by two Ministries: the Ministry of Education, which is in charge of pre-kindergarten through High School, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Innovative Technologies, which is in charge of universities and professional schools.

Student Loans are funds that are offered by different government or private resources in order to make higher education accessible to students from different financial backgrounds.

Since the cost of education has been rising continuously, it has become extremely hard for most families to pay for the cost of higher degree programs.

Students in Gabon can be availed with Education Loans to pay their education fee.

A STUDENTS LOAN SCHEME for Education was launched by the Government of Gabon in collaboration with leading commercial banks in Gabon).

Under the Scheme, financial assistance is provided by way of Interest Free Loans to the meritorious students who have financial help for pursuing their studies in Scientific, Technical and Professional education within Gabon.

The loan scheme includes the following
i) the cost of books,
ii)tuition fee and living expenses.
iii)other related expenses with the help of the Educational funds

The Scheme is being administered by a high powered committee comprising Ministry of education, commercial banks and representative of Ministry of Finance, Government of Gabon. Student Loans are different from the Ordinary Loans because they have easy repayment methods with usually low rates of interest. Further, there are different types of laws related to Student Educational Loans in Gabon.

Students in Gabon can apply for student loans and get the amount that can help them to pay for their tuition and other related expenses.Usually the loan level to be granted in each academic year is determined by Government of Gabon in consultation with Ministry of Education in Gabon.
