Apply In-Person:
- The marriage certificate must be obtained in the Fiji’s Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) Office. Contacts
- The applicants must give details of their Name and Marriage Date.
- The officials in the office will verify the couple’s marriage registration details.
- Make Sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After giving the necessary documents to the authorities in the office, they will verify the identity.
- Then, the applicant must pay the prescribed fee.
- After the payment, the marriage certificate will be issued.
- The complete fee for this procedure are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- The processing time will be intimated by the authorities in the Fiji’s BDM office.
Apply Overseas:
- If the applicants are residing in any of the overseas countries, they must visit the nearest embassy or consulate of Fiji in the country. Contacts
- The application must be filled with the necessary details.
- Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
- The Embassy's consular service section will help in the process, and then will issue the Marriage Certificate to the applicants.

InstructionsEdit
- Marriages in Fiji are solemnized by the Government Officers or Ministry of Religions of the Christian faith, or other suitably qualified persons professing any recognized religion, must first be registered as a marriage officer.
- The party who intends to get married should satisfy themselves that the marriage officer or celebrant assign to solemnize their marriage has already been registered.
- Couples must present themselves together to apply for the license.
- Every marriage shall be performed in the presence of at least two witnesses who can sign their names and are 21 years of age or over.
