Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Banana Supplier License, the applicant must go to the Ministry of Agriculture office in Fiji. Contact Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the Ministry of Agriculture office.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. While submitting the application, the applicant must pay the application fee intimated by the officials in the agriculture office.
5. The application forms should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the respective authority in the Ministry of Agriculture office.
6. The application and applicants’ details will be published as an advertisement in the daily newspaper.
7. Only if there isn’t any objection from the public after 14 days of publication, the application will be processed for the license.
8. After 14 days upon receiving the application form, the respective officials verify the application, and inspect the qualities of bananas and details related to the application.
9. After complete verification and document checks, if all the documents and quality of the bananas are legitimate, then the Ministry of Agriculture will issue the Banana Supplier License to the applicant.
10. After receiving the license, the applicant should pay $2 to the Board every year on the first day of July until the license expires.
11. The fee details of the application and license will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
12. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

Eligibility

Any individual or company wishes to supply Bananas to the Board of Banana Export and Marketing can apply for the Supplier license.

Fees

• The exact fee details will be intimated while applying. However, some of the fees for the application are:
• $0.02 – Inspection Fee/per case
• $0.02 – Additional fee for elapsing hour in inspection/per case
• $0.02 – General offset cost for Administration Board
• $2.00 – Annual Fee
  

Validity

The banana supplier license is valid for a period not exceeding 3 years.

Need for the Document

In order to supply bananas to the Banana Export and Marketing Board, the supplier must hold the Banana Supplier License, as it is a mandatory document.

If the licensed supplier didn’t comply by the rules during the license period, then the license will be cancelled by the Board members of the Ministry of Agriculture.
