Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Renew a Flight Radio Telephony Operator License the applicant gas to approach civil aviation authority in Ethiopia contact link
2. Application form will provide by the authority officer.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. If the receiving officers is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the issue of a licence and the prescribed application form has been completed and presented in the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed application fees, after which the licence will be issued.
6. You are also to proceed to pay the prescribed application fees and submit the payment receipt to together with the application documents
7. A processing time of 7 days is needed to complete the processing of the Flight Radio Telephony Operator License application, after which you will be contacted through a phone call to collect your renewed license at the ECAA’s Personnel Licensing offices.
8. The applicant required to carry your identification documents when collecting your new license after renewal.

• A properly completed renwal Application Form
• A knowledge test results slip
• Two (2) current passport size photographs (full face) whose size should be 2cm by 2.5cm
• Records substantiating the experience shown on the application Form in form of a logbook
• Payment receipt of the prescribed fees

Eligibility

Any person having flight radio telephony operator license are eligible to renew after expiry or before a month or week of expiry.

Fees

Fee for the procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.

Validity

The renewed Flight Radio Telephony Operator License is valid for 2 years.

The applicant should –

• Take and successfully completed approved course of training
• Obtain Application form from PEL Offices and complete the prescribed application form.
• Submit all the required documents.
• Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.

Need for the Document

• The Flight Radio Telephony Operator's License authorises you to operate an Aircraft Radio Station in an Ethiopian registered aircraft.
• The license is held in conjunction with another Flight Crew license.
