ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain Import Permit or License for Cosmetics, the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority location link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all necessary details in the application form (Incomplete application are not accepted).
  4. Make sure the applicant has all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form.
  6. Submit the application form to the respective officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.
  8. After payment was is done, the authority will issue the hardcopy of license within the 30days.


Note:

  • To import cosmetics, the applicant needs to obtain pre- import permit, because cosmetics was comes under the restricted goods.
  • The applicant has to approach Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority (FMHACA) to obtain the pre- import permit for cosmetics link

  • Duly filled and signed application form
  • A copy of the Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • A copy of the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association for private limited and share companies
  • A contractual agreement of office rent or office building plan
  • A document evidencing the capital allocated for the commercial activity
  • Two passport size photographs taken within the last six months
  • If the applicant is a foreign investor, the investment and
  • residence
  • A valid business registration certificate.
  • Payment details.
