Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The application form for the Import of goods is available in the Ethiopian Trade and Industry (MoTIn) contact link
2. Applicant should fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and Originals).
4. Applicant must attach the photocopies of the documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
5. Fee must be paid as per the authority’s request.
6. If the applicant follows all the above-mentioned procedures properly, then the permit will be given to the applicant within a month.
7. If the applicant doesn’t get any information regarding the permit within a month, then, they have to approach the office once again to get information on their application.

Eligibility

• Any person aged 18 years and above and legally residing in the country can import goods.
• Any person who obtain any import license for importing goods.
• Any person who has the import interest and meets the above requirement and is importing does not fall in the restricted list.
  

Fees

Fee must be paid as per the authority’s request.

Validity

Valid for 1 year.
