Apply In-Person:
- The application form for getting a fishing permit is available in offices that are functioning under the Ministry of Agriculture, Ethiopia contact link.
- Applicant should fill-in all the necessary details that are asked in the application form.
- Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and Originals).
- Applicant must attach the photocopies of the documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
- The fee must be paid while submitting the application form as per the needs of the applicant. For Example:
- If the fishing is for three days – pay 40 Birr.
- If the fishing is for a year – pay 100 Birr.
- Foreigners are required to pay 200 Birr for three days.
- Foreigners are required to pay 500 Birr for a year.
- If the applicant follows all the above-mentioned procedures properly, then the permit will be given to the applicant within 3 to 6 months.
- If the applicant doesn’t get any information regarding the permit within 3 to 6 months, then, they have to approach the office once again to get information on their application.
Apply Online
- The application form is available in the following format
- If the applicant is already a user, they can login directly with their registered mobile number and Password and then click on “Login”.
- If the applicant is a new user, then, they have to register before logging in.
- For new registration, applicant has to click on the “Register” button and then provide needed information for registration and then finally click on “Register” button for registering successfully.
- After a successful registration, the applicant can use their “Mobile number” and “Password” for logging in.
- Applicant must upload the digital copies of the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Please Fill the Request Form Properly in order to submit your service request application. Fields marked with ‘astrics (*)’ sign are mandatory information that should be provided by you to process your application by selected service provider.
- If you wish to pause your application request process and continue later, your can do so by saving your application as a Draft and Resume it later from Draft Applications Section.
- After you Submit your Service Request Application, you will be provided with a unique Tracking Number and Service provider branch that will process your service request.
- This information will also be sent to your email address you provided at registration time. With your tracking number, you can follow up the progress of your application on Track My Application Section.
- You can only apply for the Same Service Request once. Only after the completion of existing Service request, you can reapply to the Service again.
- Case worker who handled your service Request may contact you for further information regarding your application.
- You can reply for case worker inquires on Messages Section. Depending on your requested service business process, you may also be asked to fill other forms to process your application further on Correspondence Section.
- For Service requests that requires a physical presence a as a part of business process (Example: Payment, hard print document verifications, Document Pickup), you will be asked to reserve appointment time On Appointment Section.
- Once you complete your reservation, the provider will reserve the time and service counter for you. You can’t change your reservation time, so make sure you will be at reserved service counter before 10 minutes of reservation time.

- Foreigner tourist must have a tourist visa.

- Fishing for three day when you are an Ethiopian you pay 40 Birr.
- Fishing for a year you pay 100 Birr.

ValidityEdit
A license issued under this Act is valid for one year and expire on 31 December every year.

InstructionsEdit
- Any person who wishes to undertake commercial fishing from natural and man-made water bodies shall do so upon acquisition of a legal fishing permit.
- Fishing is only permitted by fisherman who is in possession of a valid permit and who is accompanied by a fishing guide.
- The catch is restricted to 5 fish per rod per day, 15 fish per trip and a maximum weight or size limit of 225 gram and 25 cm respectively. Care should be taken to release all surplus or unwanted fish unharmed.
- The fish should be caught with a rod and line using either artificial flies and/or spinners
- The use of nets, explosives ,poisons or traps is strictly forbidden
- The lengths and weights, sex, and reproductive conditions of all fish (including all those returned to the river) should, where possible, be recorded and reported to the park ecological monitoring office.
- This will enable monitoring of the population and modification of the regulations as necessary.
- This information should be provided to the fishing guide at the end of each days fishing.
