Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Amendment of Investment Permit, the applicant has to approach the Ethiopian Investment Commission link
2. The applicant has to get the application form from the respective officer
3. The applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the form.
4. Make sure that the applicant has to give the necessary all documents (photocopies and originals) mentioned in “Required Documents” in the section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach the photocopies of the necessary documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting.
6. Fee to Apply for Amendment of Investment Permit is 100 Birr.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed by the applicant properly, then, the Amendment of Investment Permit will be done within 15 days.

Apply Online

1. To Apply for Amendment of Investment Permit, the applicant can make the application in Ethiopian Investment Commission Online Portal link
2. The applicant has to create an online account and customer profile that enable to access the portal.
3. Click the “Register” button and enter the personal information and register the account. After registering an account, the applicant needs to click “Login” and enter the User ID and password to make the application.
4. Click the service “Amendment of Investment Permit” and enter all the necessary details in the application form.
5. The applicant has to upload the required documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The applicant needs to pay the service fee of 100 birr.
7. After completing the payment review the application and click submit.
8. After Submitting the Service Request Application, the applicant will receive a confirmation email indicating receipt of the application by the staff that will handle the case. The staff who will handle the case will contact the applicant for further information regarding your application.

Note: If the applicant wishes to pause the application request process and continue later, he/she can do so by saving the application as a Draft and Resume it later by clicking on "Draft Applications" menu item.

Required Documents

• A renewed investment permit.
• If the proposed change/amendment fundamentally affects project’s basic elements, applicant must sign/submit application for new investment permit
• If change/amendment solely relates to name of project, appropriate court decision
• If change/amendment relates to name of the business organization, minutes and adjusted commercial registration certificate
• If change/amendment relates to project address, clear statement to that effect in the application
• If change relates to capital injected by foreigner, proof that minimum capital requirements for foreigners is met
• If change relates to an investment project that is in implementations phase the Copy of verified sales agreement and Copy of verified land lease transfer agreement/ letter attesting consent of the appropriate person
• Four ¾-inches size photographs
