Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply to register an aircraft the applicant must submit an application for aircraft registration on a form and in a manner acceptable to the ECAA:Link .
2. An aircraft may be registered only by and in the legal name of its owner.
3. The applicant must keep in mind that the registration is not evidence of ownership of aircraft in any proceeding in which ownership by a particular person is in issue.
4. The applicant must also submit the necessary documents required for the procedure along with the required fee.
5. Refer to the “Required Documents” section for more.
6. The ECAA does not issue any certificate of ownership or endorse any information with respect to ownership on a certificate of aircraft registration.
7. The ECAA issues a certificate of aircraft registration to the person who appears to be the owner on the basis of the evidence submitted with the application for aircraft registration.
8. Once the receipt of the application form is issued, the aircraft value will be assessed, taxes will be calculated, the aircraft will be tested and an aircraft registration billing will be sent to the applicant.
9. The applicant must approach the office mentioned earlier to collect the license once they get notified by the authority about the same.

Eligibility

• A citizen of Egypt,
• An individual citizen of another State who is lawfully admitted for permanent residence in Egypt,
• A corporation lawfully organized and doing business under the laws of Egypt and the aircraft is based and primarily used in Egypt,
• A government entity of Egypt or political subdivision thereof; or
• A foreign person who has leased the aircraft to one of the persons described in paragraphs (i) (iv) above, provided that:
• The aircraft may remain on the Egyptian registry only for as long as the lease remains in effect; and certificate of registration includes the names and addresses of the lessee and, if different, the operator of the aircraft;

Fees

• The fee is as described by the authorities.
  

Validity

Instructions

• On completion of a successful documents evaluation, the airworthiness inspector issues the aircraft acceptance for registration note. No aircraft shall be registered without a registration acceptance note issued by the Authority.

Need for the Document

• A person who wishes to register an aircraft in Egypt shall apply to the Authority for aircraft registration by submitting a duly completed prescribed application Form to the Authority.
  
• Registration Acceptance Application for aircraft registration is accepted only for aircraft of a type that is acceptable to the Authority.
  
• No foreign air carrier may operate any aircraft within the Arab Republic of Egypt unless that aircraft carries current registration and airworthiness certificates issued or validated by the country of registry and displays the nationality and registration markings of that country.
