Write a request with as much as required information with appropriate fees and required documents to the Courthouse in the county where divorce was granted.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Valid government issued photo ID that verifies name and mailing address
- State issued drivers license or non-driver photo ID (if address has been changed, include copy of update card).
- If you do not have acceptable photo identification, an eligible requestor possessing government issued photo ID may apply. If an eligible requestor is unable to apply, you may submit a completed Statement from Requestors Not Possessing Acceptable Government-Issued Photo ID with two documents verifying your current address.

By Pennsylvania state law, Pennsylvania Divorce certificates are confidential records and can only be obtained by the following authorized individuals:
- Person Named on the Pennsylvania Divorce Certificate
- Mother/Father (or Legal Guardian) of Person Named on the Pennsylvania Divorce Certificate
- Grandparents and Great Grandparents of Person Named on the Pennsylvania Divorce Certificate
- Husband/Wife of Person Named on the Pennsylvania Divorce Certificate
- Adult Son/Daughter of Person Named on the Pennsylvania Divorce Certificate
- Legal Representative of an Authorized Person of Person Named on the Pennsylvania Divorce Certificate

- Divorce certificates filed in Pennsylvania are not available from the Division of Vital Records.
- These certificates are usually obtained from the courthouse in the county where the divorce decree was granted.
- You may order your certified copy either by in person or by mail.
- For fee details contact the Courthouse in the county where license was issued.
- Enclose a copy of a current legal photo ID
- Person requesting to receive a divorce certificate must sign below
- If submitting by mail, enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope
