Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Invalidity Benefits in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Social Solidarity. Contact link
- Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
- The applicant must fill up all the required application form for this procedure or for research clearance.
- Read and complete the application form correctly and obtain all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the documents to the completed application form in a single.
- Then visit the National Social Security Fund office of any centre (NSSF Service Desk) and submit the application to the National Social Security Fund attending officer at the service desk for free.
- The National Social Security Fund officer will receive the application dossier and check if the form is completed accordingly and if the applicant has provided all the required supporting documents.
- After the verification process, the National Social Security Fund officer will complete the appropriate section of the application form and forward it to the relevant office at the National Social Security Fund for processing.
- The applicant will then be examined for confirmation of his/her invalidity by the National Social Security Fund-appointed doctor.
- After the confirmation of the invalidity, the National Social Security Fund will process the applicant’s invalidity benefits and issue the funds to the applicant.
- Maximum processing time for this procedure is 5 days

- Invalidity benefit is a social security benefit payable to those who are incapable of work because of illness or disability.

- Invalidity benefit is a social security benefit payable to those who are incapable of work because of illness or disability.
- Invalidity Benefit is paid to an insured person who is medically certified as an invalid and who has made the required number of contributions to the system.
- An invalid is a person who is likely to remain incapable of working for a period of not less than 12 months as a result of a specific disease or bodily or mental disablement.
- Invalidity Pension is a payment for insured people who are permanently incapable of work because of an illness or incapacity. To qualify you must:
- Have been incapable of work for at least 12 months and be likely to be incapable of work for at least another 12 months (you will probably have been getting Illness Benefit or Disability Allowance during that time), or
- Be permanently incapable of work (in certain cases of very serious illness or disability, you can transfer directly from another social welfare payment or from your job to Invalidity Pension).
- A deciding officer of the National Social Security Fund will examine your claim and determine your entitlement based on the qualifying conditions outlined above.
