Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Invalidity Benefits in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Social Solidarity. Contact link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. The applicant must fill up all the required application form for this procedure or for research clearance.
4. Read and complete the application form correctly and obtain all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the documents to the completed application form in a single.
5. Then visit the National Social Security Fund office of any centre (NSSF Service Desk) and submit the application to the National Social Security Fund attending officer at the service desk for free.
6. The National Social Security Fund officer will receive the application dossier and check if the form is completed accordingly and if the applicant has provided all the required supporting documents.
7. After the verification process, the National Social Security Fund officer will complete the appropriate section of the application form and forward it to the relevant office at the National Social Security Fund for processing.
8. The applicant will then be examined for confirmation of his/her invalidity by the National Social Security Fund-appointed doctor.
9. After the confirmation of the invalidity, the National Social Security Fund will process the applicant’s invalidity benefits and issue the funds to the applicant.
10. Maximum processing time for this procedure is 5 days

• A member is entitled to invalidity pension if he/she suffers physical or mental disability of a permanent nature as certified by a medical board established under the Act and has made at least 36 monthly contributions immediately preceding the date of invalidity.

• Invalidity Pension is a payment for insured people who are permanently incapable of work because of an illness or incapacity. To qualify you must:
