Applying process in Djibouti for citizens and non citizens.

- Police Clearance Certificate can be applied at “Ministry of Justice”.

- Applicant can use the above link to locate the respective office for applying.
- Go to the respective office. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
- Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
- This application will be processed by respective department.
- The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person or will be delivered through mail upon notification or issued as per norms.

- To Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Federal Greffier en Chef – link
- The applicant has to visit the office with the request letter.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
- The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of 700 Djibouti Francs.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The applicant has to visit the office to get the clearance certificate.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
- The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.

- You may obtain a Certificat de non Condamnation or an Extrait du Casier Judiciaire from the Ministre de la Justice upon presentation of your national identity card and passport.
- Extract from Criminal Records (Extrait de Casier Judiciare): Requests from outside Djibouti must include name of applicant, names of both parents, date of birth and places of residence. Requests should be sent to the Greffe du Tribunal, Djibouti. Requests from within Djibouti must be made in person. A copy of any judgment is included with the police record. There may be a fee for this service

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

Persons applying for the Police Clearance Certificate are required to submit a certificate from a public agency (embassy, immigration bureau, etc.) representing the country (or territory, etc.) of their destination.
Those who can apply for the Police Clearance Certificate must:
- have currently registered their residence in Djibouti; or
- had registered their last residence in Djibouti, and their registration has expired.
Applicants must be fingerprinted. All applicants are required to come in person.
Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) can be issued to minors, if a country asks for the same.

In many immigration cases you may be requested by relevant Government to present Police Clearance Certificate from another country where you have resided for some time. If you are going through immigration process, you will definitely be asked for such a certificate.
