- All Corruption Reports should be submitted to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (D.C.E.C), whose mandate is to gather information on corruption occurring in the Government, the public sector, and the private sector from a variety of sources.D.C.E.C contact detail
- One can pass on information anonymously or choose to disclose their identity, to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (D.C.E.C). Reporting anonymously will assist in concealing your identity and alleviate the fear of being victimized by those you report. However, feedback between the D.C.E.C and yourself will be compromised since there will be no communication.
- Information can be passed to the D.C.E.C using the following communication channels;
- Information can be provided to D.C.E.C in writing a letter addressed to the (D.C.E.C) Director-General and submitted by post
- Presenting the information personally by visiting any of the D.C.E.C offices in Gaborone, Francistown, and Maun. (Address details are provided below)
- One can also collect and complete the Reporting Corruption Form, these forms are available for free at any of the D.C.E.C offices, or download them directly using this link;Reporting Corruption Form. The completed form can be submitted either via email or fax to the D.C.E.C.
- You can also send a message to the D.C.E.C social media page; i.e. The-Directorate-on-Corruption-and-Economic-Crime-DCEC-Botswana (Facebook page).
- You can also pass the information by calling the D.C.E.C Toll Free number: 0800 700 100/ 74738275/ 76535562/ 2416666/ 6862393
- Upon receipt of the corruption report, the D.C.E.C will conduct its due diligence to authenticate the report.
- A report, feedback will be provided in 14 working days, by the D.C.E.C on the way forward of the report claim; i.e., if the Informant / Complainant’s had chosen to disclose their identity to the D.C.E.C
- If the corruption report claim has grounds and is truthful further investigation will be carried out and if the crime was committed, the DCEC will file the case to the court and the alleged perpetrator will be arraigned/summoned in court for a trial and judgment.
Please note: That it is an offense to knowingly give false, frivolous, or groundless information to the DCEC as per Section 43 of the Corruption and Economic Crime Act.

The corruption report will remain valid until it is full investigate and solved by the D.C.E.C.

Need for the DocumentEdit
The purpose of this service is to report corruption to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (D.C.E.C). It is also important to note that every person is free to report anything they deem related to corruption. Corruption here covers issues such as common bribery (soliciting, accepting, and giving bribes), fraud, money laundering, insider trading, nepotism, conflict of interest, embezzlement etc.
