Procedure

1. To apply for a call cab permit, you must complete an application form. You may use the link provided under 'Documents to Use' section to download the form. Read the form carefully when you fill it out.
2. Submit the completed form together with all the required supporting documents to the Registration and Licensing Officer at any Department of Road Transport and Safety office.
3. Pay the application fee of BWP100.00 to the Registration and Licensing Officer.
4. Attend the scheduled Transport Advisory Board hearing. It is at this point that the decision would be made. Please note that in instances where the area for which the application has been made is already congested, applicants could be denied the permit.
5. If your application has been approved, you will be asked to take the vehicle to the Transport Inspectors for inspection. If the vehicle failed the inspection, applicants must comply with Inspector's instructions to rectify any vehicle issues that may have caused the failure and reapply. Applicants' whose vehicles pass the inspection are issued inspection certificates.
6. Take the Inspection Certificate and all other supporting documents to the Registration and Licensing Officer and pay permit fee. Once fee is paid, the permit will be issued.

• Completed application form
• Copy of the vehicle's registration document (if available) otherwise prove of vehicle owner's financial ability (such as a bank statement or prequalification letter from a financial institution).
• Copy of vehicle's valid Roadworthiness Certificate.
• Vehicle Inspection Certificate (only if permit application is approved by the board).
• Certified copy of applicant's National ID (Omang).
• Radio Licence from Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA).
• Business plan.
• If company, copy of Certificate of Incorporation, directors' National Photo ?IDs, and Shareholders' Certificates.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the criteria below:

• Botswana citizen or locally registered business.
• Owner of a minimum of four vehicles.
• The vehicle for which the permit is intended must have a seating capacity of four passengers.

• Application fee: BWP100.00
• Permit fee: BWP100.00.
