Procedure

Apply In Person

1. Persons interested in obtaining Travel Insurance cover with the Botswana Insurance Company (BIC) should visit the BIC regional offices or contact any of the BIC registered agents or brokers. BIC Branch Office Location & Contact Details and BIC registered Agents & Brokers
2. The applicant will be educated about the different travel insurance plans available, the premium amount to be paid, and what the insurance policy covers.
3. Upon deciding on what you need for coverage, you shall be issued with a Travel Insurance Proposal Form to complete, forms are obtainable at any of the BIC branch/agents' offices or downloadable via the BIC website BIC Application Forms or download it via this link: Travel Proposal Form.
4. The completed form, attached to copies of the supporting documentation should be submitted for verification.
5. Upon review and approval of the submitted documents, the responsible office will issue a payment draft which you will take to the bank and pay the required amount in addition to the bank charge
6. This will be followed by presenting the bank receipts and upon verification of the payment, you will be told when to go and pick up your Travel insurance certificate depending on the number of days given.

• 3 recent, colored photographs of size 3×4 cm with white background and your name at the back of the photograph
• Any other supporting documentation as may be requested by the Authority.

Fees

The cost of Travel insurance cover shall be determined by the client's personal particulars and the destination he/she wishes to travel.
