Apply In-Person
- To apply for a pula card, an applicant should visit the ministry of finance and Economic Development-Office of the Accountant General and nearest Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) offices. Use this link to view BURS address details: Link
- Applicants are required to collect and complete the Pula Card application form, forms are available for free at the inquiry desk at the Office of the Accountant General or revenue offices; or directly download it by using this link, Link (Application form)
- Submit the completed form attached to the supporting documentation as listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page; to the department responsible, either at the Office of the Accountant General and nearest revenue offices.
- The receiving officer will then verify that all the necessary information and documents have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before they are registered and recorded.
- The applicant's bio-metric photo will be taken and he/she is issued with an acknowledgment receipt, containing details of the application.
- After processing of the application which is 5 working days, the pula card will be made available for withdrawal by the applicant at the dispatch office/desk, at the office where the application was filed, against the acknowledgment slip and your identity card.

Important notes
- The automated prepaid card ‘Pula Card’ is meant to cater to the unbanked Batswana especially beneficiaries of ISPAAD, LIMID, student allowances, travel allowances. This is targeting rural areas beneficiaries who do not have access to traditional banking facilities.
- The service has been outsourced from banking institutions. The Pula cards can be issued instantly, while other categories of cards such as personalized embossed are ordered.
