Apply In-Person

  1. There are three categories of engineers that are registered and licensed by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) i.e. Graduate, Registered, and Professional Categories. For each category, there are three sub-categories of registration being Engineering Technician, Engineering Technologist, and Certified Engineer. Engineers Registration Board (ERB) contact details

To apply for a Practical Engineering Certificate applicants are required to collect and complete the Practising Certificate Application Form, Copies are available at the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) offices countrywide or download it via the ERB website Practising Certificate Application Form or directly download it using this Practising Certificate Application Form
  3. The applicant will be required to submit the certified true copies of the supporting documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in addition to the duly completed application form in all respect to the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) offices. Any omission of these documents will render the registration process incomplete.
  4. Upon receipt of the application file, the receptionist will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the file for assessment and consideration by the board, which is usually within seven (7) working days.
  5. Applicants will be issued with an acknowledgment letter as proof of submission of the application.
  6. Notice of the decision (Approval, Deferral, or Rejection) for the application will be communicated to the client by SMS, email, or any relevant contact method preferable by the client.
  7. If approved, the board will direct the registrar to register the applicant as an engineer and draw up the registration certificate as directed by the board to be issued to the client.
  8. The applicant will be required to produce a proof of identity document and the approval letter/acknowledgment slip when collecting the practical engineering certificate at the specific office the application was lodged.
  9. The Practical Engineering Certificate shall be subject to such terms and conditions as the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) deems fit to impose in each case, and such terms and conditions or requirements shall be endorsed on the certificate.

  1. Applicants can apply to the ERB website Application link.
  2. Fill out all mandatory fields then click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  3. Applicants will receive an acknowledgment mail as proof of submission of the application.
  4. Upon receipt of the application file, the officer in charge will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration by the board, which is within 7 working days.

PAYMENT METHOD NOTES:

  • The accepted method of payment is direct deposits into the ERB bank account or using your debit or credit card at the POS machine available at the ERB offices.
  • No cash will be accepted at ERB Offices. Cheques sent to ERB by post will also not be accepted. ERB will take no responsibility for cheques lost in the post or intercepted and fraudulently banked in another party’s bank account.
  • When payments are made at the Bank, an applicant must quote their full name as the reference.
