ProcedureEdit

  1. Births should be registered with DCRC within 30 days from the time the child was born. In the event of failure to comply with the above timeline, parent(s)/guardian(s) will have to report in person to the DCRC HQ for registration.
  2. Fill up and submit the application form No. BCRS-BR-01.
  3. A consent letter from the Head of Household must be obtained first by the applicant, if he/she is not the child's parent.
  4. Attach relevant documents as specified in documents required to the registration form.
  5. The applicant will have to produce their CID/ SRP card in original during the registration process.
  6. The birth registration certificate can be collected from CC/ DCRCO/ Thromde/ DCRC HQ.

Documents required for Bhutanese citizens/SRP holders:

  • Completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01
  • Identification documents of parents
  • Notification of birth (if delivered at hospital/BHU).
  • Copy of marriage certificate, otherwise endorsement from the guarantor.
  • Consent letter from the Head of Household if the applicant is not the child's parent.


Documents required for all other marriage cases & non-Bhutanese:

  • Completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01
  • Identification documents of parents
  • Notification of birth (if delivered at hospital/BHU).
  • Copy of marriage certificate, otherwise endorsement from the guarantor.


Documents required for Bhutanese citizens serving overseas in Bhutanese Embassies/Missions:

  • Completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01
  • Identification documents of parents
  • Birth certificate issued by competent authority.
  • Copy of Marriage certificate, otherwise statement confirming parentage of the child should be obtained from the Head of Chancery.
  • Consent letter from the Head of Household if the applicant is not the child's parent.


Documents required for Bhutanese citizens/SRP holders studying/working/residing overseas:

  • Completed application form No. BCRS-BR-01
  • Identification documents of parents
  • Birth certificate issued by competent authority.
  • Copy of Marriage certificate, otherwise statement confirming parentage of the child should be obtained from the Head of Chancery.
  • Consent letter from the Head of Household if the applicant is not the child's parent.


Note: For those applying through the Community Center (CC) operator, you must present your original CID/SRP card for verification purposes.

EligibilityEdit

Any child born in Bhutan and children born to Bhutanese parents abroad may be registered in the civil registry.



FeesEdit

  • Registration in Free
  • Except for the service charge payable at the community center, if the application is to be submitted at the Community Center (CC).
