Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Book an appointment with Transport Control Department (TCD) for a valid vehicle examination by a phone call to the Department through the contacts provided in “Office Locations & Contacts” section below.
2. On the date of Inspection visit the site with your vehicle and pay for the inspection fee and have the vehicle examined.
3. Obtain the vehicle examination results.
4. Visit the TCD vehicle re-licensing section with required documents. If you own a private vehicle obtain the application form through the government of Bermuda website: website or via this link: form
5. Submit your application alongside the required documents for evaluation
6. Pay the necessary application fees for your vehicles class
7. Once the verification process of your documents is completed and the department is satisfied with the evaluation you will archive your re-licensing.

Apply Online :

1. You can renew your motor vehicle licence online for any vehicles that you own by visiting the TCD online portal: Form
2. If you have an account proceed and login but if you don’t have an account click on Register to create one.
3. Once you are logged in complete your application as instructed and pay application fee online using the valid options that have been provided. I.e. using a credit card
4. Submit your application and the TCD will give a feed back to you through the email address you provided.
   

NOTE:

• Only private cars, auxiliary cycles and motorcycles can be re-licensed online. All other vehicles such as vans and trucks cannot be re-licensed online. You must go to the Transport Control Department to have the license for those vehicles renewed.
• Customers can only book an appointment online for themselves or for vehicles that they own. All practical tests for cars, cycles, and trucks can be booked online. Additionally vehicle inspections can be booked at all 3 testing locations and appointment confirmations can also be made online.

• Copy of your current insurance policy which contains your policy number and effective and expiration dates.

• All registered vehicles are eligible for examination and if they meet the requirements placed by TCD the will then be re-licences

Validity

• The vehicle's registration must be renewed annually.
• The annual registration fee is determined by the class of vehicle.

Instructions

• You can only renew licences online for private cars, auxiliary cycles, and motorcycles. You must go to the Transport Control Department to re-licence all other vehicles.
• To renew your license online, you will also need a valid email address and Bermudian license or learning permit.
• If your vehicle is not currently registered to a valid assessment number, you will not be allowed to register online.
