Bermuda - Obtain a Transfer Test Certificate

ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Book an appointment with the Transport Control Department (TDC) through the contacts provided in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section below.
  2. On the appointment date visit the TDC office together with the buyer for the car transfer test
  3. Pay the application fee and provide the required documents
  4. The examiner will conduct the test and if the vehicle pass, you will be issued with the following documents;
  • A transfer test certificate valid for one month from the date the car was examined
  • Your bill of sale
  • Your certificate of insurance.

Note:

  • You should complete the sale before the car’s transfer test certificate expires one month after the car has passed its test
  • The buyer is responsible for the transfer registration fee which includes the cost of the transfer test

InstructionsEdit

Before the car goes to the Transport Control Department (TCD) for its transfer test, make sure:

  • the car looks presentable and everything works
  • the car is still insured
  • the sale can be completed within one month of having the car transfer tested
  • You have an appointment with TCD to have the car transfer tested.
