ProcedureEdit

New application

  1. To apply for a trade license, applicants will need to go to their local City Council or Town Board however, it is not required for businesses operating in rural areas.
  2. Applicants must submit a copy of their business registration certificate to the Council before applying for a license. The applicant must ensure that the business is established in a commercial area.
  3. Pay all applicable fees. The amount that should be paid is determined based on a percentage of the annual rental value of the premises and are due within 30 days after receipt of the bill. Percentages range between 2% and 25% depending on the type of business.
    Trade License applications are approved quarterly; a special meeting can be called at the request of the applicant, however, this is done at a charge of BZ$150.00 (US$75).


Renewal

  1. To renew your trade license you will need to submit an application, in writing, to the clerk of the council clearly setting out the nature of business, the proper business name and address as specified in the form by the council.
  2. Pay the annual license fee. The fee is calculated based on one-fourth of the annual value of the premises in which the business is carried out. Peddlers pay an annual fee of BZ$100.00 (US$50).
