Procedure

• To obtain a proof of residence, you can apply in person by going to the counter of the Population Service.
• Or you can request online: e-Brussels population and registry

Request information for citizens in the population register.

Applications for certificates can be done only through Irisbox

Opening hours : Monday from 8:30 am to 3 pm, Tuesday from 8:30 am to 12 pm, Wednesday from 8:30 am to 3 pm, Thursday from 8:30 am to 6 pm, Friday from 8:30 am to 12 pm, the distribution of tickets takes place from 8:15 am

Telephone hours : from Monday till Friday from 8:30 am till 4 pm

Eligibility

To obtain a proof of residence in Brussels, applicants must be or have been domiciled in the City.

Fees

• Proof of residence: 3.75 euro
• Costs nothing in the context of free legal assistance or a justice of the peace, in the context of a request by the Prince Laurent Foundation, a public real estate office, the disaster foundation.

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.

Instructions

The procedure can be done:

• by the applicant
• by a third person in possession of a request made by a lawyer, a justice of the peace, a legal service.
• by a third person who holds a proxy and the ID card (or a copy) of the applicant (and his or her own ID card)

Need for the Document

Proof of residence is designed to be presented or prove the addresses in connection with an investigation of justice, a lawyer, a notary or a magistrate. The proof of residence includes the address or different addresses where the applicant lived.
