ProcedureEdit
- Gather all documents you will need to present or submit in order to register a commercial fishing vessel.
- Fill out the registration form.
- Submit the completed registration form along with all other required documents to the Fisheries Division under Barbados' Ministry of Agriculture.
- Upon completion of the inspection process where a Certificate of Inspection has been issued, the supervising officer shall approve the application for registration.
Approval of the fishing vessel's registration will result in the issuance of the Certificate of Registration and a marking note for local commercial fishing vessel. A vessel's file and a computerized record will also be created, and the register of fishing vessels in Barbados will be updated to include the newly register vessel.

- Completed application form for registration of a local fishing vessel. Vessel Registration Form (FD7)
- The owners/directors Barbados Identification Card
- The owners/directors valid Passport and any other documents that proves the owner or director is of Barbadian nationality or citizenship
- The owners/directors Barbados National Insurance & Social Security Registration Card (NIS Card)
- Relevant invoices, bill of sale, change of ownership letter and or other documentation supporting the procurement of the vessel
- For company owned vessels: Certificate of companys incorporation and the names of its directors
- For imported vessels:
- Completed customs declaration C63 form
- Survey report
- De-registration certificate from the country of origin, if the vessel was registered in another country
- If the vessel is to be sailed to Barbados, prior to sailing, an application for temporary flag state status is to be made to:

EligibilityEdit
The fishing vessel must be wholly owned by individuals or a company of persons who are citizens or permanent residents of Barbados.
The applicant who may be an individual or a director or agent of a company, must complete the fishery worker application process.
