ProcedureEdit

  1. Gather all documents you will need to present or submit in order to obtain a Fisher's Industry Identification (ID) Card.
  2. Fill out the registration form. A link is provided under 'Documents to Use' section which you can use to download the form.
  3. Submit the completed registration form along with all other required documents to the Fisheries Division under Barbados' Ministry of Agriculture.
  4. Have your photo and signature taken.
  5. If there is no reason to refuse the application for registration based on Section 11, 12, 19, 25, the supervising officer will approve the application for registration. A Fisher’s file will be created and the Fisher’s Industry Identification Card will be prepared and issued.

  • Completed application form for registration. (FD13)
  • Barbados Identification Card.
  • Barbados National Insurance & Social Security Registration Card (NIS Card).
  • A valid work permit related to the role in the fishing industry. (For Non-nationals)
  • Certificate required for role in fishing industry.
  • Valid Markets Fish Seller’s Licence. (Processing or Vending).
  • Valid Health Certificate. (Fishermen, Processing or Vending). The Health Certificate must be valid for at least a month after the date of sumbission of the application for the market licence.

The Fisher’s Industry Identification Card is to be issued in accordance with expiry date on the Market Fish Seller’s Licence or the Health Certificate. (Fishermen, Processing or Vending)

Special provision will be made for the registration of persons at processing plants or those who may be incapacitated.
