Procedure

Apply In Person:

1. To Apply for IIG (International Internet Gateway) License, the applicant has to approach the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link

   NOTE: Check the form on page no – 05.

3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
12. Also, the Commission reserves the right to disclose any information submitted by applicants to any competent authority if the Commission deems the same necessary.
13. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

• Certified true copies of the Memorandum and Articles of Association and Certificate of Incorporation for corporate applicants.
• Certified true copies of share certificates demonstrating ownership interest in the application (if applicable).
• List of Directors with details of their shareholdings, and relation to other Operators and applicants for a License along with bio-data and photo.
• List of Shareholders with details of equity ownership
• Income Tax Clearance Certificate (if applicable) and TIN Certificate
• Letter of Comfort from a scheduled bank.

Need for the Document

• International Internet Gateway Service means a Telecommunications Service for routing of international incoming and outgoing Internet-based data traffic via an international Internet gateway which is connected with an existing submarine cable or satellite earth station.

• Consideration for approval of the application shall be based on information declared in the application form. Where it thinks fit, the Commission may seek clarification or request additional information from any entity arising from the application.
• Any failure to notify or respond to the Commission may affect the application or any License issued under it. Any delay in notification or response may also affect the time for a decision on the application.
