Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Electricity Connection in person, the applicant must approach the headquarters of Grand Bahama Power Company Limited Contact Link
2. Visit the office and get an application form for Electricity Connection or download and print the form by clicking on this Link
3. Complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections.
4. After filling the application form, make sure to attach all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.

Apply Online:

1. To apply for Electricity Connection online, click on the Online form Link
2. Follow the page prompt and click on the appropriate check boxes.
3. Click on the “Submit” button to view the rest of the application form.
4. Fill in the required details in the appropriate boxes.
5. Upload the necessary documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Please note that the application will be rejected if you do not submit ALL of the requested documents.
7. Once completed, click on the “Submit” button.

Note:

• The application can be made via Email or post as well.
• Fill out the Application for Service form and submit via e-mail to [email protected] or to the headquarters with the necessary accompanying documents.

Required Documents

• A valid business license certificate (for businesses)
• Two forms of valid photo identification; only passports, voter’s cards and driver’s licenses will be accepted.
• National Insurance Board (NIB) card
• A security deposit

And any one of the following:

• An occupancy certificate issued by the Technical Department of the Grand Bahama Port Authority for newly constructed residences within the Port area.
• An occupancy certificate issued by the Ministry of Works, Bahamas Government for residences outside of the Port area.
• An inspection certificate issued by the Technical Department of the Grand Bahama Port Authority for residences within the Port area that have been vacant for more than one (1) year.
• A letter from their landlord giving permission to connect electric services in the customer’s name for those persons leasing or renting the residence.
