ProcedureEdit

  1. Go to the Recorder of Deeds office.
  2. Present and submit documents required.
  3. Complete the application form.
  4. Pay the marriage license fee.

EligibilityEdit

  • Both applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • For applicants under the of 18, custodial parental consent must be given.
  • For applicants under the age of 15, an order of the circuit court must be obtained.
  • Applicants must not be related to each other including cousins.



FeesEdit

Fees for a marriage license and copies may vary by county.



ValidityEdit

The marriage license is valid for 30 days and can only be used in the state of Missouri.

  • Both applicants must appear in the presence of the recorder of deeds or their deputy.
  • The person solemnizing the marriage is required to have the marriage license prior to performing the ceremony.
  • The person solemnizing the marriage shall return the license to the issuing recorder of deeds within 15 days.
