ProcedureEdit


  1. Owners of properties in the state are responsible for paying property tax to the Municipal Corporation.
  2. The corporation area is divided into 6 zones. Each zone is headed by a Deputy Commissioner for assessment of property tax
  3. Pay all your outstanding property tax on or before 31st October
  4. Non-payment of property tax can impose a hefty penalty - an interest at the rate of 5 to 20 per cent on the payable sum
  5. Property tax shall be paid offline (Municipal offices or at banks)
  6. Payment can be made either Online i.e. via Net Banking, Credit card, Debit card, etc. or Offline i.e. via Cash, DD or Cheque

In Person

  1. Please make sure that you have the assessment for property tax in hand. Otherwise, please go to your area municipal / ward office and submit the documents, property number and other property details to the respective authority and obtain the property tax amount. One can do the same at the time of paying at the office too. Knowing this information prior will be helpful in knowing the amount in advance.

  3. In order to pay property tax in person, Please visit the local municipal office. Submit the property assessment slip / Holding number at the respective counter. Authorities will verify the details and announce the payment. Please pay the amount to complete the process
  4. Payment can be made in Cash / DD / PO / Cheque
  5. User will be provided a receipt for the payment received and keep it safe for future reference.
  6. User shall pay at the bank as approved by government using the challan as prescribed. User should fill in the required details in the challan to make payment.

Apply Online

  1. To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to use the following link – link
  2. The applicant has to click the “Quick pay Click here” button.
  3. Enter the “Holding Number” and click “Go” button.
  4. Now the applicant will be redirected to a page where the applicant can able to see all the bill details i.e. arrear amount or the amount against each quarter.
  5. Check the details of the payment and click the “Pay Now” button.
  6. On clicking “Pay Now” button the applicant will be redirected to a confirmation page. If he/she are sure of making the payment then click “Confirm”.
  7. Choose the payment method (e.g. debit card, credit card, internet banking etc.). Provide required information and click “Make Payment” to proceed.
  8. After making payment the applicant receipt will be automatically generated for future reference.
  9. The processing time for this procedure is complete within few minutes.



Apply through CSC

  1. To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC centre – link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select a state, district, and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centers.
  2. The applicant has to visit the center and submit the tax pay invoice to the operator.
  3. The officer will check the details on the computer.
  4. Followed by the applicant can pay the amount to the officer by cash or online transaction.
  5. Once the payment process for the property tax is completed, the applicant will get a successful payment receipt from the officer.
  6. The processing time for this procedure is complete within a day.



Apply through Paytm

  1. To Pay Property Tax, the applicant has to download the app from the following link – link
  2. The applicant has to click the “Municipality payment”.
  3. The applicant has to select the respective corporation from the list.
  4. The applicant has to enter the property ID and other minor details and then click the “Get Tax Amount” button.
  5. Now the amount will be displayed in the screen and click the “Proceed to pay” button.
  6. The applicant has to select the payment method.
  7. Enter the payment details and click the “Pay” button.
  8. The applicant can check the payment summary after the payment gets successful.
  9. The processing time for this procedure is complete within few minutes.

  • You should be an Indian citizen and of age 18 years.
  • Should own land or property in your name

FeesEdit

  • The property tax amount is calculated based on the residential area. So, it varies from one property type to other.
  • Property tax for a building is calculated based on
    • Basement area
    • The rate prevalent in the street where the property is located
    • Usage of the building (residential or non-residential access)
    • Type of occupancy (owner or tenant)
    • The total span of the building’s existence.

ValidityEdit

The property tax paid is valid for one year. Every year, you should renew it. (In certain place the tax will be collected for six months too)

  • Property tax or 'house tax' is a local tax imposed on owners of an apartment, land and building by the Government. The governing authority of the jurisdiction levies the tax to the owner in which the property is located.
  • Property tax clearance is required for most of other service like Water, Sanitary, Electricity connection etc.
  • Owners of residential properties are liable to pay property tax to respective department on a specified period of time and has to be paid regularly (period can be 6 months or one year in respect to the state).
  • Tax Exemption is applicable for selected citizens / organizations (Educational Institutions, Charitable institutions, Ex-serviceman / In-service man, retired pensioners association, NGO Homes/Teachers Association Buildings) as applicable.

  • The information about all the new constructions, existing construction and improvements to the property must be provided to the respective Department of the state to make necessary changes to tax assessment.
Note: There will be strict action against the defaulters. It is advisable to pay the tax on time to avoid such situations.
