ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. Approach the Consumer Grievance Redressel system (CGRF) of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL).
  2. Record your complaint to the Junior Engineer / Assistant Engineer in case of LT connection and with the Assistant Executive Engineer / Executive Engineer in case of HT connection to register your complaint regarding the faulty electricity meter.
  3. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this procedure to see the respective address and contact details.
  4. You can locate to the following CGRF locations:- Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Silchar, Rangia, Bangaigaon, Nagaon and Guwahati
  5. The officer receiving the complaint must immediately issue a Complaint Number.
  6. Record the complaint according to the office guidelines.
  7. If your complaint is not addressed or you are not satisfied with the decision of CGRF, you can also lodge your complaint at the higher level that is Electricity Ombudsman (EO).
  8. Once the complaint is recorded the consumer will be provided with an acknowledgement which needs to be kept safe until further notice.
  9. The request will be taken care of by the respective authority.
  10. A technician will visit on the address mentioned in the application to inspect the electricity meter.
  11. If the electricity meter is found faulty, it is removed and taken to the department lab for checking.
  12. The department will inform to the consumer to either collect the repaired meter or the replaced meter until which the consumer needs to wait until further notice from the department.
  13. The consumer must follow the department notice and regulations to get the electricity meter fixed.
