Procedure

To provide financial support to the poor widows of India, the widow pension scheme was introduced in India. A widow whose household is below the poverty line is eligible to get the benefits of pension scheme.

Apply In-Person for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) :

1. To apply for Widow Pension,you have to approach any Gram panchayat/ VCDC / VDC or Block Office under Hailakandi District and submit application.

4. Fill the application form with necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the Chief Executive Officer in the Panchayat& rural Development (PNRD)
6. Pay the appropriate fees as authorities quote. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
7. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
8. If sanctioned, beneficiary shall be issued a Pension Passbook.
   
   

Apply In-person for Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme :

1. Any widow who wish to apply for Indira Miri Widow Pension Scheme should fulfill the criteria and may approach Gram Panchayat / VCDC / VDC or Block Office

4. Fill the application form with necessary details.
5. Attach all the Required Documents as mentioned in the Required Documents section along with the form and submit it to the concerned officer in the gram Panchayat.
6. Pay the appropriate fees as per authorities quote. You will be given an acknowledgement keep it safe for future reference.
7. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
8. After your application is accepted the money received will be directly sent to the beneficiary’s bank account through direct bank transfer.
   
   

Note :Under this scheme, the state government will provide one time settlement amount of Rs. 25,000 as Immediate Family Assistance.

Eligibility

Eligibility to apply for Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS):

• The applicant must be from BPL category (with a valid BPL id)
• The applicant must be a widow.
• The applicant must be above 40 years of age.
•  An amount of Rs 300/- is payable to such pensioners aged between 40-79 years.
• After attaining the age of 80 years, the beneficiary will get Rs 500 per month.

Eligibility Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme :

• Widow below the age between 45 to 60 years.
• Permanent Resident of Assam
• The applicant must have his or her name registered with the APL or BPL list.
• Widow should not have financial support from her relations.

Fees

• As authorities quote.

Validity

• It is valid forever.
