Apply through Phone Call
- You can apply by calling "14567" which is a National Helpline for the Elders and they should be able to facilitate you to get a Senior Citizen Certifiate or Identity Card.
Apply online
- To Apply for a Senior Citizen Certificate, the applicant has to make the application online via link
- The applicant has to check the details and click the “Apply” button.
- The applicant needs to click the “log in/Registration”
- If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “New user? Sign up for MeriPehchaan”
- Enter the registration details and click the “Generate OTP” button.
- Enter the OTP from the given mobile number and click the “Sign Up” button.
- Now the applicant has to log in with the username and password and click the “Sign In” button.
- The applicant has to select the form from the menu list.
- Enter all the details in the application form.
- And uploadall the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Pay the prescribed amount fee in online mode.
- Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process is completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Once your application is approved, you will be informed about when and where to collect your Senior Citizen Certificate. Make sure to carry proper identification when collecting the certificate.
- The Senior Citizen Certificate can be used to access various benefits and privileges provided by the government for senior citizens. These benefits may include discounts on public transportation, healthcare, and other services.
- The authority will assess the application, once the applicant meet all the requirements the authority will issue the license.
- This entire process can be completed within 10 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Apply In-Person:
- To apply for the senior citizen certificate, please approach the concerned Additional Deputy Commissioner (administration) office.

- Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
- Submit the completed form along with the documents to the concerned authority.
- This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
- After successful completion, Certificate will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
- The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen Certificate will take 7 working days.

- Please go the respective office.
- Application can be obtained from the authorities (pay for form if required).
- Submit the complete application along with required documents to the operator in the centre (if required fees has to be paid as authorities in the centre quote).
- Operator will check the details and start to process online using the computer.
- Applicant will get the transaction ID for the application made. Please keep it safe for future reference.
- This application will be processed by the respective department as per how it will be processed in person.
- Applicant will get notification about the status on his registered mobile number provided while applying.
- Applicant can get the printout of the certificate from where he/she applied upon notification.

- The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
- The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.

- Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
- One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.
- NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate
