ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Renew a Learner Driver Permit, the applicant has to approach the Department of Motor Vehicle link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or it can be downloaded from the followin link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Visit the DMV office and submit the proof documents along with the application form to the respective officer.
  7. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  8. Before getting a learner permit, the applicant has to complete the written test.
  9. After completing the test, the applicant has to undergo for vision test.
  10. Once all the tests are completed, the officer will check and verify all the processes.
  11. If all the documents are in place and passing in the test result, the applicant will get the learner permit.
  12. The officer will take a photo of the applicant and issue a learner driver's permit.
  13. Also, check the validity of the learner driver permit.
  14. The processing time for this procedure takes up to 1 week.


NOTE:The driver's handbook includes all of the rules of the road that the applicant has to know if he/she wants to be a safe driver. The applicant is responsible for knowing all the rules, even though the applicant may not be tested on all of them.
