To renew vehicle trade certificate, applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

An Application for the renewal of a trade certificate shall be made in Form 16. Application form can be obtained in the following link Form 16
Make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application.
The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for this procedure.
Application forms can also be obtained from the respective RTO offices.
Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
Please follow their guidelines to complete the process.
If all are satisfactory, the renewal of the certificate will be sanctioned.

Apply Online:

To renew trade certificate online, applicant has to visit the following link link
Now click on “Existing applicant” option.
Now select your state, applicant category and application submitted office from the dropdown menu.
Now enter the mobile number and email ID and click on “Generate OTP” button.
After entering the OTP in the respective textbox, please follow the on-screen instructions and complete the renewal process.

Apply through Centres:

To apply through centres, the applicant has to approach the respective “CSC” centre in their area. Refer the following link for location: CSC Locator link
- NOTE: The applicant has to select the state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will issue the certificate.
The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

Dealership letter from manufacture or any other appointing letter.
The map of your workplace.
PAN number of the trade owner.
Any valid address proof (such as Voter ID etc. )
GST Number of your business/firm.
Documents of your workplace (documents of the place where you run your business or the Rent agreement if your run your business on rent)
Photographs of your work place.
Aadhaar Card.

Note:

All original and copy of original with self attestation as advised by respective authorities to be submitted as per requirement.
Apart from the above documents, authorities may ask to submit additional information or documents. Please provide them for processing.

Trade certificate is required by the bonafide dealer of a vehicle manufacturer.
This certificate is issued for different class of vehicles like M/C, LMV, GOODS CARRIER, THREE WHEELER, MOTOR/MAXI CAB.
This certificate is needed for an agency to use the vehicle for test-drive and demo purpose.

The trade certificate shall be carried on a motor vehicle in a weather-proof circular folder and trade registration mark shall be exhibited in a conspicuous place in the vehicle.
No holder of a trade certificate shall deliver a motor vehicle to a purchaser without registration, whether temporary or permanent.
