ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To renew the money lending licence, a valid moneylender shall apply with the authority by whom the licence was granted or last renewed. Applicant shall approach the local administrative department to find the contact details of the respective authority.
  2. Please select your district name to reach respective district portal. In the given page please select “Contacts” menu to get the contact details AND Contact link2 AND Contact Link3
  3. Please go to the respective office. Get advice on the renewal process. Please collect the renewal application form or write on a plain paper as advised.
  4. Please complete the application form. Attach the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section of this page along with the applicable renewal fees (treasury receipt / as per the advised format) if any, to the receiving authority.
  5. After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  6. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer and provide applicant a record number for reference.
  7. Concerned authority will process the application to check the authenticity of the submitted details. The applicant will be instructed to produce his/her accounts for inspection. The authority, then assess the inspection fee.
  8. The applicant shall pay the fees as instructed and provide the proof of paying the fees.
  9. The inspection will be conducted. If required, the authority will visit the premises to do required due diligence.
  10. Once the inspection is complete and the outcome of the inspection looks satisfactory, the licence will be renewed.
  11. The status, viz. renewal or rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS or through phone call.
  12. Please follow the department’s guidelines to get the renewed licence as per applicable norms.


Note:

  • All applicant has to follow the respective state moneylenders act rules and regulations.
  • The Interest rate and tenure for the loan should be fixed as per state government norms.
  • When an application for renewal of a licence is received by the respective licensing authority within the prescribed period, the registration shall, until the application is finally disposed of, be deemed to be valid.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to approach the respective “CSC” centre in their area. Refer the following link for location: CSC Locator link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select the state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will issue the license.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

EligibilityEdit

  • A valid license holder is eligible to apply for renewal.
  • An application for renewal of license may be made on any date within three months prior to the expiry of the license.
  • The applicant should not have got his/her licence cancelled within last six months or the prescribed period before the date of current application.
  • No application for renewal of license shall be accepted from the expiry of sixty days of the validity of the license.

ValidityEdit

  • A registration certificate remain in force for five years from the date on which it is granted and may be renewed from time to time for a period of five years at a time or renewed as per the period mentioned on the license.
