Applicant can collect application form from Municipal Corporation Department: Link for Office
Make sure you have all the documents to apply
Make sure you are eligible
Submit the application form along with required documents to the authority at the municipal corporation
Authorized In-charge will check your form and verify the documents
The In-charge will send the Form(s) along with the enclosures, if any - immediately to the Head of the Department/Unit Offices seeking permission for processing further.
Then inspection and verification of business place as well as the documents will be conducted by respective authority and the applicant will be advised for the payment
Once fees are paid, Certificate of Enlistment will be issued

Please select “Online Application Registration(For New CE)” listed on the left side of the screen
In the given new screen, please “Sign Up” to login with user ID and password.
Please fill / attach all the details prompted for and hit “submit” at the bottom of the screen
From the time the online process is completed, actual procedure of apply in person will be carried forward to issue the license

Apply through Centres:

To apply through centres, the applicant has to approach the respective “CSC” centre in their area. Refer the following link for location: CSC Locator link
- NOTE: The applicant has to select the state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will issue the license.
The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

- (a) Memorandum/Articles of Association MOA
- (b) Declaration in Form No. 32
- (c) Form No. 18
- (d) Proof of occupancy

If owned by petitioner, Tax bill
- In case of tenant, rent bill
- In case of lessee, lease-deed
- In case of relative, if granted rent free accommodation by the premises owner then you have to submit **consent letter from the owner

Note: Along with the form and the documents, one has to provide an affidavit / declaration which certifies that in case of any discrepancies or any illegal activity on the behalf of the person or company who want to start a business, the certificate of enlistment will be revoked.

InstructionsEdit

An application in prescribed form is to be submitted U/S 199.
Places of business.
- If owned by petitioner, tax bill to be produced;
- If a tenant, rent bill to be produced;
- If a lessee, lease-deed to be produced;
- If relative/person granted rent free accommodation by the premises owner, consent letter from the owner to be produced;
- If a person is granted rent free accommodation by any bonafied tenant, consent letter along with the current CE of the tenant to be produces;
- If a sub-tenant, consent of the premises owner will also to be produced along with documents viz. rent bill, current CE etc. of original tenant.
- Besides License Department Officials may also issue CE on spot if any trade/profession/calling is carried out without obtaining trade license.
In case of Companies / Private Limited Companies, the following documents to be produced along with the application:
- Memorandum/Articles of Association;
- Declaration in Form No. 32;
- Form No. 18;
- Proof of occupancy;
In case of Partnership Firm, the Partnership deed to be produced.

As per “Section 199” of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Act 1980, the licensing department of Kolkata Municipal Corporation grants the Certificate of Enlistment.
These licenses are used across the country and must be obtained from the respective State government for the performance of trade
