Procedure

While renting out a property in West Bengal, one has to register the Tenant’s details with the Police for Tenant Verification.
Apply In-Person:

1. To register the Tenant’s details with the Police in west Bengal, get the Tenant Verification form from the concerned police station.

3. Fill the required details of the Landlord.
4. Fill the required details of the Tenant.
5. Attach a photocopy of the Tenant’s Id Proof and passport size photograph.
6. Duly sign the form submit the form at the nearest Police Station: Know Your Police Station.
7. The Police would ask the Tenant or Property Owner to visit the Police Station if any verification is necessary.
8. The Police would keep a record of the Tenant’s information and would inform the landlord if the Tenant is a criminal or a troublemaker.
