Tripura - How to Pay Electricity Bill

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
“Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd” (TSECL) is the electricity regulation board operating within the state of Tripura.
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid through
1. Cash counters of respective electricity board office
2. Online portal
3. Pay through Mobile App
4. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There is different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

There will be a service charge for Mobile wallets / bank Instapay / Internet banking / Debit card / Credit card / CSC Wallet
Applicable GST rates will be charged

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill by person at the respective electricity board office. Link for contact phone number of the offices: link for contact.
Go to the respective center and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

Pay online:

In order to pay online, please use the following link: online portal link
In the given page, please select “Quick pay” option provided on the right side of the window under login details to reach new page
In the new page, user has to enter Consumer account number in the given box and hit “Next” to reach the next page.
This page provides Consumer details, bill generated followed by general instructions.
Here please enter email id to receive receipt through mail and followed by selection of payment option from drop down menu. After entering / selecting applicable option. Select the bill to be paid by clicking the square box and hit “Next” for reaching next page
Resulting page provides summary of what the user has selected to reconfirm. If the details are as per choice, please hit “make payment” button to reach the next page
The next page is for selecting proper payment option. Before selecting the option, make sure the amount mentioned against payment amount is correct.
Once you select the payment type, user will be directed to the respective payment gateway option for user to provide appropriate details against the prompt.
After completing the screen prompt, please use the respective option to pay online.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.
User can print the bill by using “view bill” option on the right side of the window under login and quick pay option to reach new page . Link for page: online portal link Please follow the screen prompt to get the pdf and print it.

Tripura Power - Mobile App

This app can be downloaded using the goggle plays tore. play store link
Once the app is installed, user has to login to access the options.
Once logged in, user will get the screen with options to choose, please select Pay bill option to pay.
Once the next screen reached, please provide the prompted details and proceed for making payment using appropriate option.
Once you select the payment type, user will be directed to the respective payment gateway option for user to provide appropriate details against the prompt.
After completing the screen prompt, please use the respective option to pay online.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Through bharatbillpay

User shall select the option as provided on the right side of the page under Quick pay option
please select bharatbillpay payment option to reach the respective page to make online payment using the bank option from the drop down menu

OR

select bharatbillpay agent option to reach the respective page to locate the agent for bill payment. In the provided page, user shall enter the pin code to get the agent details.

Through BillAvenue Collection Agent

A BillAvenue BBPS Collection agent can easily fetch bills from “TSECL” bill pay BBPS system and collect payment for TSECL power bills from the respective consumers

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private App’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

Apply through app

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for Tripura Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units
