Procedure

Residents of Telangana could get a new Drainage or Sewer connection through the following procedure.

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a drainage or sewer connection, one has to visit the concerned divisional or sub divisional office of sewerage board in your area. Know your Officer
2. Before applying, please consult with the concerned authority regarding all the requirements necessary for getting a new drainage connection.
3. Procure the application form for sewerage connection by paying the required fee.
4. In the procured application form, fill all the required details.
5. Attach the photocopy of all the required documents with the application form.
6. Submit the documents at the respective divisional or sub divisional office of sewerage board and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
7. The documents will be verified and if the application is eligible, the applicant will be notified to pay the charges. Rejected applications will be returned to the applicant with intimation.
8. Pay the service charges as instructed and register your connection and receive the acknowledgement receipt.
9. Obtain permission for road cutting from the respective department if required.
10. Your application will now be forwarded to the concerned area officer for sanction.
11. Site inspections will be made by the authority officers and any correction regarding the application will be notified to the applicant.
12. After all the requirements and changes have been met by the applicant, the work order will be issued for the connection.

1. To apply online for a drainage or sewer connection in Hyderabad Metropolitan area, visit the HMWSSB portal or click here on the direct Apply Online
2. Fill all the required details in the displayed application form.
3. Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
4. Check for any corrections to be made before submitting the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
5. Pay the application charges if required or pay the scrutiny charges after site inspection as advised, for which you will receive the payment receipt.
6. After successful submission of your application, the system will generate your application reference number. Please keep it safe for further reference.
7. Your application will be further processed to the area officer and necessary site inspections will be made with intimation.
8. Your application will then be sanctioned, and the connection will be provided.
9. You could check the status of your application by entering the application number in the given Application Status

• GHMC/Municipal building sanctioned plan
• GHMC/Municipal Tax assessment receipt
• No objection Certificate if it is in specified locality
• House site Patta certificate
• Slum area certificate if it is in slum areas
• Occupancy Certificate shall be mandatory for all buildings. However, in respect of individual buildings in plots up to 100 Sq meters with height up to 7m obtaining occupancy Certificate is optional.
• An affidavit written on Rs.20/- Non judicial stamp paper to the effect that the applicant shall abide by the various provisions of the HMWS&S Act, 1989 and its Rules, Regulations and orders in force from time to time, duly notarized.

• The building should have proper rainwater harvesting arrangements.
• Building and internal plumbing works have to be completed.
• Water Tax should have been paid up to date.
